Our houses are crafted with traditional methods, but with a forward-thinking approach to engineering. Established in 2007, Zyl Tiny Homes is a highly experienced building company in the world of tiny houses.

We offer a diverse range of original designs, or can create custom designs based on your vision. Our workshop is located in Olympia, WA, USA, and we can ship most of our structures anywhere in the continental USA. For international customers, we may be able to work remotely upon request.

Zyl Tiny Homes is renowned worldwide for our exquisite rooflines, handcrafted windows and doors, and custom interiors. We pride ourselves on our in-house ability to bring concepts to life, and we uphold a strong commitment to quality. Our designs are safe, reliable, durable, low-maintenance, and retain their value over time.

As we produce many of the house elements ourselves, we have full control over the quality and sustainability of materials used in our structures. Our houses are made with non-VOC and sustainably sourced materials, making them healthier for both you and the environment. We also have the flexibility to accommodate specific material sensitivities by omitting or substituting elements upon request.

Zyl Tiny Homes was founded by Abel Zimmerman Zyl, a respected designer and builder in the residential and marine trades since 1991. Abel is known for his educational, activist, and informative efforts in the tiny house community, and serves as a founding member of the American Tiny House Association and a Consulting Board Member for construction and design. His work has been featured in various media outlets, including HGTV, National Geographic News, Forbes Magazine, OPB’s State of Wonder, ADR Germany TV, The San Francisco Globe, and the book Tiny Homes on the Move by Lloyd Khan.
