We want you to consider Homer, Alaska, your home away from home, which is why we offer a range of lodging options to suit your taste and budget. Our Inn has a rich history, originally established in 1941 and now owned by 5th generation Alaskans, Alex and Adrienne Sweeney, since 2003. The friendly attitude of our staff, the cleanliness of our rooms, and our unique location in Old Town Homer near Bishop’s Beach and Kachemak Bay have earned us praise from our guests.

Visitors to the Driftwood Inn and RV Park often comment on the Old Town feel and friendly atmosphere that we strive to maintain. We take pride in offering good value without unnecessary glitz, and our guests appreciate the honesty and authenticity of our hospitality. Our establishment has a rich history dating back over 80 years, with Adrienne’s grandfather attending school in the original building in the late 1920s. Over the years, the building has transformed into a hotel with various amenities, and it has been home to other small businesses as well.

Since taking over the Inn in 2003, the Sweeney family has made continuous improvements to the property, including upgrades to the exterior, new mattresses, showers, offices, a covered deck, and boiler system. The Sweeney’s three daughters, affectionately known as the Littlest Innkeepers, have also contributed by helping with tasks such as making beds and folding towels. Our repeat guests notice the attention to detail and appreciate the investment we make in their experience. As a locally owned small family business, we are grateful for the support of our community and strive to give back through donations to various organizations and individuals in need.

Adrienne finds inspiration in her great-grandparents, Lillian Walli and Hugh Watson, who were pioneering entrepreneurs in Homer. She instills in her children the importance of honoring their legacy by working hard, helping others, being responsible stewards of the community and natural resources, and planning for the future. The Sweeney’s daughters are growing up learning these lessons through their involvement in the Inn, from making beds to saving for their future.

We love the quality of life in Homer, Alaska, and are grateful for the beauty of the area that surrounds us. Waking up to the stunning scenery of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains never gets old.
