1995 marked the birth of our company, an idea that was conceived during a four-year journey across the United States while working as a carpenter. Observing the prevalence of flimsy and unattractive sheds in the shed market all over the country, we were inspired to create something better. Drawing on various architectural styles, including the influence of Frank Lloyd Wright, we developed cottage designs and started experimenting with dog houses using native lumber and Vermont craftsmen.

In 2004, Jamaica Cottage Shop, Inc. acquired a manufacturing facility located two miles north of our original location in Jamaica. This 70,000 square foot factory allows us to produce all our products indoors. We expanded our product line and developed pre-cut post and beam kits for cottage sheds. Today, Jamaica Cottage Shop is known for producing the finest wood sheds and cottages, including prefab storage sheds, prefab cottage kits, wood shed kits, and more, which are shipped all over the United States and Canada.
