Historic Shed is a family business run by a husband-wife team who have been working together since 2000 in a historic preservation consulting company called Preservation Resource, Inc. In 2006, Craig proposed the idea for Historic Shed, and it was officially launched in 2008 in Brooksville, FL. They have two teenagers and a Jack Russell Terrier named Chuck, and their employees are considered family.
Tiny houses or cottages can serve various purposes, including a guest house, spare bedroom, granny flat, vacation home, rental unit, or a place to house an aging parent or college student. With the popularity of the Tiny House movement, small cottages can make a wonderful full-time home. Historic Shed provides base plans for cottage designs that can be modified to fit individual needs or complement historic properties. Other designs are under development, and prices typically range between $225-250 per square foot, including utilities, though this can vary depending on location and finishes. All Historic Shed cottages are engineered to comply with Florida Building Codes, and the company provides plans as part of the building project. They also offer building shells that customers can finish themselves.
