We provide guidance on land selection and information on obtaining traditional financing, and our comprehensive services include navigating building code permitting requirements and optimizing your property’s assets for maximum views and solar potential.
Once we have gathered all your land information, confirmed building area allowances, setbacks, and financing approval, we can help you select a plan and make design modifications to suit your needs and budget. GreenPod provides plans, elevations, and views in PDF format, along with a 3D model for you to visualize on your computer, allowing you to fully understand and experience your new home from the inside out. GreenPodTM or your contractor then prepares an estimate for site preparation, foundations, and other necessary site improvements.
During your design meeting, we discuss how to best utilize the site and address your specific needs. We can also explore incorporating active and passive solar power into the design.
The next step involves using a 3D modeling program to conceptualize your home on the site. We prioritize energy-efficient and non-toxic shell design, and then focus on interior components and finishes based on your budget.
With proper engineering, we then develop a permit drawing set. You can choose GreenPodTM Fabricators for construction in the Port Townsend area, or we can coordinate with your local building team for foundation work and construction.
From our initial design meeting to the completion of your Pod, we estimate that once all the preparatory work is done, the actual construction time for your GreenPod could be as short as 3-4 months.
