The Veterans Community Project is committed to helping all Veterans in need. We offer housing, support services, and much more to those who have pledged to serve our country.
The organization was founded by combat Veterans in Kansas City, Missouri who recognized the flaws in the existing system and wanted to make a difference. Our aim is to provide essential support services to Veterans in two main ways:
Â
The Veteran Outreach Center
Our walk-in center serves as a one-stop-shop for every Veteran facing any kind of problem, regardless of discharge status, time in service, or other qualifying factors. Our dedicated staff provides a range of services, including assistance with navigating the VA, identification services, referrals for mental and physical health, financial counseling, employment support, hygiene kits, and access to our food pantry. All our services are completely free of charge, and we welcome anyone who has taken the oath to defend the Constitution.
Â
VCP Village
Our Veterans-built community of tiny homes and wrap-around services is designed to get homeless Veterans off the streets and into permanent housing. We offer more than just traditional homeless services by providing the Veterans with privacy, security, and a sense of community. Our onsite community center provides mentoring, case management, counseling, and other programs and services to help Veterans reintegrate into society.
Our long-term goal is to eradicate Veteran homelessness nationwide. With our expansion plan, we aim to achieve similar success in eight communities by 2022, starting with our first satellite location in Longmont, Colorado. If you’re interested in bringing the VCP to your community, please contact us at info@veteranscommunityproject.org.
