Perch & Nest combines a deep-rooted love for simple living and masterful craftsmanship. Our team comprises skilled home builders, carpenters, designers, up-cyclers, and licensed professionals who are not only experts in their fields but also homeowners, parents, and homesteaders. We share the same passions and collaborate to create homes that are meticulously designed and built with the utmost care.
Our affinity for construction, design, and restoration of reclaimed materials has been a cherished family tradition for generations, leading us to establish a business specializing in custom carpentry and home renovation. While small dwelling builds and conversions have always been a part of our business, we have been captivated by the allure of “tiny” spaces in recent years, like many others.
In 2014, we had the honor of sponsoring, hosting, and mentoring a close friend from our hometown in building the world’s most traveled tiny house, and the rest is history! The shift in our business towards the tiny home movement was a serendipitous blessing, not only for our team but also for our families. The promise of simpler living that the tiny home movement offers was the lifestyle change we had been eagerly seeking. Building tiny home RVs and revitalizing small existing structures allows us to bring our unwavering dedication and craftsmanship to a more refined setting. We entered the tiny movement as seasoned builders, but also as individuals who understand the value of home, family, and the mantra of “less is more.”
We feel incredibly privileged and grateful to spend our days designing and constructing functional spaces for others. Being a part of each design, whether on wheels or revitalizing existing structures (or revitalizing structures on wheels!), has allowed our family to work from our farm, doing what we love most – building, growing, and sharing the concept of “home” with others. This movement of builders, dwellers, and enthusiasts is marked by contagious kindness and encouragement, which is truly refreshing in today’s world. For this reason, we have assembled a team of skilled designers, carpenters, licensed tradesmen, RV technicians, and other professionals who share a passion not only for their craft but also for this movement. Our mission, as a family and a community of builders, is to infuse our love and expertise into every project we undertake, and to pass on these homes, skills, and knowledge of “what matters most” to the next generation.
