Our Story

Mockingbird Tiny Homes is the brainchild of Chad and Kelly, a husband and wife team who have a personal connection to the tiny house lifestyle. Their journey began when they started living together in a 250 square foot studio, which sparked their interest in minimalism and a more sustainable way of living. Inspired by the nationwide tiny house movement, they are committed to designing and building homes that not only meet traditional building codes but also prioritize attention to detail and excellent customer service.

The name “Mockingbird” is derived from the unique ability of the species to mimic the songs of other birds. Similarly, Mockingbird Tiny Homes strive to emulate the comfort, convenience, and tranquility of traditional homes without compromising on quality. Our model home, the Palila, is named after an endemic species found exclusively on the Big Island, representing our deep connection to the local community and environment.
